Super Curcumin

An Ayurvedic Combination Of Curcuma Longa and Boswellia Serrata, with Bioperine

Curcumin has been shown to exert powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects within the body. Curcumin plays a multifaceted role by protecting against estrogen-mimicking chemicals, suppressing pro-inflammatory enzymes, protecting against damaging free radicals, and promoting normal cell cycle growth.

In the Ayurvedic medical practice, boswellia has been used for centuries to treat a variety of diseases including inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, liver disease, neurologic disorders, obesity, respiratory tract disorders, and skin infections.

This unique standardized extract has been concentrated and patented. One of boswellia serrata ’s demonstrated benefits is that it reduces the “chipping ” away of glycosaminoglycans, a process that can lead to destruction of the supportive tissue forming the joint and cause joint disfigurement and limited mobility.

Curcumin is a compound found in small amounts in turmeric, a popular culinary spice. Curcumin has been shown to exert powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects within the body.

Inflammation is the body’s first defense against infection, but when it goes awry, it can lead to heart disease, cancer, arthritic conditions, Alzheimer’s, and a host of other diseases. New studies have tied inflammation to over-expression of a protein molecule called Nuclear Factor-Kappa B (NFKB). NFKB acts as a switch to “turn on” genes that produce the body’s inflammatory responses. It has been known for some time that NFKB’s expression increases aging in adults. Scientists have long sought ways to modulate NFKB and its effects in the body.

Benefits of Curcumin

Boswellia Serrata

Boswellia serrata has been used in the Ayurvedic system of medicine for hundreds of years where it is referred to as “Salai guggal.” It is a resin from a large deciduous tree that grows in the dry hilly parts of India.

In the Ayurvedic medical practice, boswellia has been used for centuries to treat a variety of diseases including inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, liver disease, neurologic disorders, obesity, respiratory tract disorders, and skin infections.

The major use of boswellia today has been in the area of inflammatory conditions.

Many diseases and physical trauma induce inflammatory reactions. While inflammation is a necessary component of the body’s immune response, When it escapes the body’s regulating mechanisms, it can lead to chronic conditions such as arthritis, heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer ’s, hepatitis, and a host of other diseases.

New Spirit Natural's Boswellia serrata consists of a mixture of pentacyclic triterpene acids such as:

1. 3-Acetyl-B-boswellic acid
2. Acetyl-11-Keto-B-boswellic acid
3. 12 Keto-B-boswellic acid
4. Pyrazol derivative of B-boswellic acid
5. 3-Keto-B-boswellic acid ester
6. 2-Bromo-B-boswellic acid ester

Metabolic causes of Inflammation

Arachidonic acid is an essential fatty acid synthesized in the body that serves as a precursor for the biosynthesis of important hormonelike substances such as prostaglandins of the 2 series, the thromboxances and leukotrienes. The body’s over production of these substances may result in tissue swelling, tenderness, and redness, which characterize inflammation.

Studies indicate that Boswellia serrata inhibits the formation of inflammatory leukotrienes, without impairing other enzymes which metabolize arachidonic acid. (Studies on the anti-inflammatory mechanisms of the pentacyclic triterpene acid fractions of the oleogum resin of boswellia serrata indicate that the primary site of action of this compound is inhibition of the 5-lipoxygenase enzyme responsible for the formation of inflammatory leukotrienes).

New studies have also tied inflammation to over-expression of a protein molecule called Nuclear Factor-Kappa B (NFKB). NFKB acts as a switch to “turn on ” genes that produce the body ’s inflammatory responses. It has been known for some time that NFKB ’s expression increases aging in adults. Scientists have long sought ways to modulate NFKB and its effects in the body.

Anti-Inflammatory

Boswellic acids have demonstrated the ability to prevent the degradation of connective tissue that occurs in the inflammatory process. These anti-inflammatory activities do not seem to be associated with the generalized immune suppression often associated with the long-term use of steroids.

Bioperine ® Absorbable Curcumin

Circumin is poorly assimilated into the bloodstream, limiting its tremendous benefits. When a small amount of bioperine is combined with curcumin, its bioavailability dramatically increases. A study done on animals and humans showed that bioperine enhances the serum concentration of curcumin, with no adverse effects.
